Northwest Cellars and Nectar (Tasting Room) will forever be connected. I (Josh) met Bob in 2010 through a mutual friend. At the time I was in the middle of blogging at my old site DRINKNECTAR.COM and was moving forward with opening a Co-Op wine tasting room that would be known as Nectar Tasting Room. Bob Delf was very interested but I was in talks with another winery from the West side and kept putting off my decision. Finally all the pieces came together and Northwest Cellars became the fifth winery to join the co-op.
Bob’s first year of sales at Nectar were lower among the five wineries but over the years people came to know and love Bob and his wines. Bob’s visiting weekends were always among the highest in sales. Personally I have seen an evolution of quality and wine making from the earlier vintages to now and the ongoing accolades and critical acclaim that Northwest Cellars receives are well deserved.
Bob started Northwest Cellars in 2004 because he saw a need for QUALITY wine available with custom labels. Over the years Bob has grown his operation to about 6,000 cases of wine available with any custom label that you or his team design. Visit the Northwest Cellars website for a full list of wines and to inquire about their custom label program.
We are excited to welcome Bob home…I mean back to Nectar for January. Six Northwest Cellars wines will be on the bar starting January 5. First Friday 2018 is also Nectar’s seventh anniversary and we are thrilled to have Bob back with music from Jamison Sampson (7pm) and a fun and trendy art display from Tara Dawn Art. First 30 customers will get a pair of plastic logo wine glasses perfect for camping or travel.
Bob is also back on Saturday, January 6 for a four course wine maker dinner. I have it on good authority that he is bringing a few “special bottles” to share with dinner guests.
