My (Josh) history with Alexandria Nicole Cellars goes back about eight to ten years with a visit to their Woodinville tasting room. Over the years I have had the pleasure of reviewing their wine on my old blog, interview Jarrod Boyle, co-owner and co-visionary, and sell their wine over at our Kendall Yards location. Heck, Ben, my manager, even worked for them for a few years. I’ve been looking forward to having them as our featured winery of the month ever since we announced the new concept.

For those not familiar with Alexandria Nicole Cellars you will now be caught up to what the rest of Washington, and beyond, has been raving about. Jarrod was born in Prosser and worked for Hogue cellars under Dr. Wade Wolfe. As part of his daily routines Jarrod came across a piece of land with a gently South facing slope along the Columbia River. After some investigation from a friend, Rob Mercer, Jarrod came to find out that that piece of land was owned by none other than the Mercer family (of Mercer Estates, our May Featured Winery). A providential journey led to the planting of 270 acres on what is known as Destiny Ridge Vineyards and home to Alexandria Nicole Cellars.

In addition to the Estate, Alexandria Nicole has tasting room in Prosser and Woodinville. These are great and convenient to visit but the real magic is venturing the extra hour South of Prosser, along Highway 14, to take in all that is Destiny Ridge. This location has to be one of the top 5 spots in Washington to enjoy wine, and trust me I’ve been to a lot of places. Tasting inside the estate is by appointment only but even tasting in the tasting room with the views of the vineyards and river is worth it.

For years Alexandria Nicole provided a glamping experience in the Vineyards but over the last few years they have taken that to a whole new level with FOUR unique “Tiny Homes” that are available for rent. Two of their Tiny Home builds were featured on HGTV’s Tiny Home Living. Imagine waking up IN the vineyards! Visit their website for the full experience.

With 270 acres of 23 different grape varieties planted ANC offers quite the line up of wines. Many of these, however, are only available at their tasting rooms and the Estate or to wine club members. For the month of August we will be showcasing 6 of their delicious wines.

2015 Pinot Gris

2016 Viognier

2014 Gravity Merlot

2014 Jet Black Syrah

2015 Bohemian Red Blend

2014 Quarry Butte Blend
