If you’ve been to Walla Walla you can’t miss the Seven Hills Winery tasting room. Located in the heart of downtown in the historic Whitehouse Crawford building you will get an urban tasting experience with knowledgeable staff from one of the first wineries to produce wine in Walla Walla.  The construction of the tasting room was carefully planned and carried out to preserve the character and charm of the building, including the original brick exterior and red fir floors. This historic building celebrates not only the wines but also the history of Walla Walla Valley.

As a fourth-generation farmer who worked alongside his father to plant the founding estate blocks for Seven Hills Winery, Founder and winemaker Casey McClellan played an important role in the viticultural history of the Walla Walla Valley appellation (AVA). As a winemaker, Casey has guided Seven Hills Winery, creating wines that are benchmarks for excellence in the Northwest.

Since its founding in 1988, Seven Hills Winery has helped to champion the rich diversity of the region, and its potential for producing an array of stellar wines. It has also been part of many firsts for the appellation. In keeping with its focus on Bordeaux-varietal reds, it has bottled more vineyard-designate Cabernet Sauvignons and Merlots from the AVA than any other winery.

THE ICONIC VINEYARD

Just fifteen miles south of Walla Walla on the edge of the Walla Walla Valley Appellation, you’ll find Seven Hills Vineyard. The original couple dozen acres of plantings date back to 1981. Now the vineyard boasts more than 235 acres of premium wine grapes. This premier vineyard is managed by Sadie Drury and is the source of fruit for many of the fine wineries in the state and valley. Wine & Spirits Magazine profiled it in its Fall 2004 issue as one of the ten great vineyards of the world.
